Uncanny Coasts: An evening of spoken word, film and music about life and death by coasts and canals

Influx Press presents an evening of film, music and storytelling about life and death by coasts and canals. Three writers and three filmmakers look at impact of watery landscapes on our memories, emotions and sense of history.

The Electric Palace’s own Rebecca E. Marshall evokes the magical joys of sea swimming in her immersive documentary, GLITTER AND STORM.

Local author Gareth E Rees will read from THE STONE TIDE, his novel about tragedy, folklore and eco-apocalypse in Hastings, with a live musical performance of U118, a psychedelic invocation of the town’s infamous beached U-Boat.

In GHOSTS ON THE SHORE, filmmaker Eymelt Sehmer and writer Paul Scraton reveal the dark mysteries of Germany’s Baltic Coast, a place that bears the legacy of a nation’s trauma.

Finally, Gary Budden explores the emotional geography of Kent’s Hollow Shore and London’s haunted canals, including GREENTEETH, a wyrd fiction super-8 film directed by Adam Scovell.
