About No Sweat:
No Sweat's clothing fights exploitation in the garment industry by building solidarity with workers world wide.
We operate differently to other clothing brands. We’ve created a circular economy that sees former sweatshop workers make environmentally sound clothing that actively funds the fight against sweatshop labour.
There are several important factors that make our project unique:
• Worker Protection: Oporajeo sets the cost of production, including the cost of materials and all the workers’ wages, which No Sweat pays up front—so if any problems arise, workers don’t suffer any loss of earnings.
• Profit Share: No Sweat and Oporajeo share the net profits from the wholesale sales equally. To our knowledge, no other garment company has manufacturers that are genuinely partners in this way.
• Garment Worker Solidarity Fund & No Sweat Campaign: 5% of the gross profit from every sale goes into a Solidarity Fund to support the struggles of garment workers around the globe. The remainder of No Sweat’s share is used to fund our campaign work. There are no owners, shareholders or executives taking large chunks of the profits.
• Eco-Friendly: No Sweat T-shirts and garments are made from fully traceable organic cotton, using azo-free dye and filtrates waste water through an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). Oporajeo is a carbon neutral factory that offsets emissions with their own tree planting project.
